Tropical Storm Nigel has strengthened and developed into a hurricane, with expectations of it becoming a major hurricane by Tuesday.According to the latest update from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC), Nigel is now situated approximately 875 miles east-southeast of Bermuda. There are presently no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
At 11AM, the center of Hurricane Nigel was located near latitude 27.2 North, longitude 51.4 West.Nigel is currently moving northwest at a speed of 12 mph (19 km/h), and this general motion is anticipated to continue over the next couple of days. It is then predicted that Nigel will change its course & move northward late Tuesday, followed by acceleration toward the northeast for the rest of the week. The maximum sustained winds are currently recorded at around 80 mph (130 km/h), with the possibility of higher gusts. Nigel is expected to undergo a rapid intensification and transform into a significant hurricane by Tuesday.A gradual deterioration may commence on Wednesday.The hurricane's powerful winds stretch outwards up to 25 miles (35 km) from the core, while the winds of a tropical storm extend up to 160 miles (260 km) from the center…..*
