Newly elected NYCD President Paul Baron outlies three themes on which the new council will focus4/30/2018 The National Youth Council of Dominica has elected its Communications Officer Paul Baron as its new President, taking over from Senator Jahisiah Benoit, who served as the former President of the council. The new executive of the NYC was selected at the council's General Assembly on Saturday at the Newtown primary school. Baron says he hopes to bring a positive change in the lives of the youth as he serves in this position. Meantime Baron has highlighted the role of the youth in creating a climate resilient nation. Baron beat challenger Phael Lander 84-26 to win the Presidency. Kerdisha St Louis was elected first Vice President with Terese Morancie as second Vice President. David Thornhill was elected unopposed as Chairman of the National Youth Council. Daniel Panthier is Publicity Coordinator, with Kenu Winston as assistant Secretary treasurer, and Yannick Registe and Carsim Birmingham as committee members. Baron will serve as president for a period of 2 years in the first instance.
