November 25 saw outrage, pain & suffering in Dominica: a double murderer accused got bail; a mother lost her daughter to gun violence; $184,500 state funds bought a vehicle to transport PM Skerrit’s kids

​Dominica remains in shock this week, as on November 25, 2024, the nation learned that Finance Minister McIntyre along with the Financial Secretary, authorized the use of state funds, to purchase a vehicle costing a whopping $184,500 for transportation of Prime Minister Skerrit’s children.
 
Subsequently, on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024, Dominicans learned that Double Murder accused Jonathan Lehrer was granted bail in the amount of EC $1 million with conditions.
 
During the evening of that same day, two young women were senselessly shot, with one succumbing to her wounds in front of her mother's eyes.
 
The mother of the young woman who was murdered on Tuesday night, Ms. Julia Belleau, broke her silence on the horrific experience on Wednesday. Speaking to Q95’s Talk Show Host, Mathias Peltier Jr, in an exclusive interview, she recalled the night and how her daughter Curtilia was killed.

​Belleau stated that her other daughter who was shot is currently being treated at the hospital. The mother emotionally exclaimed that this is the second child she has lost to senseless gun violence.
