Opposition Leader Lennox Linton has filed an official complaint to the police in Dominica for what he calls criminal trespassing on his property in Morne Daniel, on May 19, 2019.
Linton told a press conference today that he wrote a letter dated October 18, 2019 to Police Chief Daniel Carbon, asking that those who were involved in the act be investigated and charged. On May 19, 2019, Security Cameras at Linton’s home showed a Caucasian man entering his yard and dropping off a black bag on his doorstep and leaving with it thereafter. Another video showed the same man repeating a similar act and this time, leaving the suitcase on his doorstep, but another Caucasian man was seen in the video, taking it off Linton’s doorstep just moments later. He said, “No bag was left on my premises.” Linton claims their investigation found evidence that identifies the men as British nationals that allegedly may have been paid to carry out what Linton called “mischief” during the elections. The letter further read, “I suggest to you Sir that these two British citizens should be investigated and charged with the offense of criminal trespass to my property and conspiracy with those who instructed, engaged or facilitated them to commit public mischief.” Linton appears satisfied that there is adequate evidence to support his complaint. He said a copy of the letter of complaint and evidence will also be sent to the British High Commission in Barbados.
