Would Jose Marti himself bestow or support Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit if he were alive? Some argue that he would not. One of those who share this sentiment, is Opposition leader Lennox Linton speaking on last evening’s Worker’s Voice program. Prime Minister Skerrit received the Order of Jose Marti award from the Government of the Republic of Cuba. José Julián Martí Pérez was a Cuban nationalist, poet, philosopher, writer, journalist, translator, professor, and publisher who was known for speaking out against corruption of all kinds, and many of his works, according to Leader of the Opposition Lennox Linton, speaking out against and condemning what Mr Skerrit is known for doing or is allegedly involved in.Linton is of the view that if Marti were alive, he would not consider Mr Skerrit for such recognition.Linton read a few of Mr. Marti’s works highlighting the core of his points.
