Well known Pastor, farmer and Agro-processing engineer, Adrian Bannis says Agriculture is his heart. He is of the view that resilience cannot be built without food security. He stated that food should be made easily accessible to the public, and especially after natural disasters. Pastor Bannis was a Guest on the weekly program ‘Freedom and You’ aired on Wednesday April 12, on Q95fm Radio. Mr. Bannis also went on to say that as a leader, he cannot give up, as there are many other avenues on which we can capitalize on. As a result, he is mentoring a few young men into the trade of roofing and other trade work. Meantime, Bannis says Dominica’s agriculture culture has tremendous potential, but more crops that can withstand hurricanes need to be planted. He listed crops such as, Sweet potato, Tania, Pineapple, Sweet orange, Lime, Grapefruit, Coconut and more. He emphasised on the need to plant with a different sense of purpose; one with more action and less talk, as we need to be motivated and have a goal; otherwise we will remain in the same place.
