PM Skerrit now says CBI Funds will build an International Airport in Dominica costing US$220Million?4/24/2017 Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says a tentative site in Woodford Hill has been identified as a location for construction of an International Airport, and that would take place following further studies of the area. Speaking at a National Consultation earlier today Monday, Mr Skerrit revealed the total cost to build that airport will be approximately US$220-Million. He said the DLP Government has already begun planning ways to finance the project, through the creation of an “airport development fund”, to which monthly sums of money will be allocated, from the CBI program. Skerrit says the Government will report to the country in further detail, when all of studies for the project have been completed. Meanwhile, Skerrit says the CBI Program’s performance is vulnerable to prolonged criticism by Dominican citizens.
Skerrit stated that constant controversy and criticisms surrounding the program, will render it to be unable to survive its competition. According to Prime Minister Skerrit, prolonged attacks on the program will result in the programs demise as potential candidates will favour alternative programs.
