President of the Police Welfare Association (PWA), Corporal Jefferson Drigo, has commented on the response given by the Permanent Secretary who serves in the Ministry of National security, re the concerns of Police Officers in the traffic department and the Roseau Police Station. Drigo told media at a press conference on Thursday, that after the PWA led an internal protest action, the authorities in the ministry of health immediately implemented four consecutive days of intense cleaning at these two facilities, which resulted in a much cleaner and pest free environment. He added that the Permanent Secretary and her team, visited the two stations in question after the four days of cleaning, and so upon arrival they saw a fairly clean environment, which explains her statement that she and her team saw no rats or bedbugs at these facilities.
