PPOD Leader Sapphire Carrington want Dominica Government to adopt recommendations by JDF Colonel

​Leader of the Peoples Party of Dominica (PPOD) Sapphire Carrington has expressed the sentiment that her party wants the Ministry of the National Security in Dominica, and the Dominica Police Force Executive, to adopt all of the recommendations provided by Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) Colonel Jaimie Ogilvie. On 22nd November 2017, the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) Colonel led a team undertaking a strategic review of Dominica’s Police Force.
 
According to National Security Minister Rayburn Blackmoore, who announced the measure on Tuesday 21st November 2017, the intention was to assess the functional services and effectiveness of that law enforcement agency. The review was also expected to allow for recommendations to improve & strengthen the Dominica Police Force.
 
Blackmoore said on the state-owned DBS radio, “This review is intended to carefully assess the current functional capabilities of the police force, and to determine the way forward,”
 
Carrington says the findings of the review are necessary to restore confidence in the Police force, and to increase the morale standing of Justice in Dominica.

Meantime, Carrington wants Dominica’s Government to follow existing procedures, when registering farmers with the Agriculture Ministry in Dominica.
 
Carrington also emphasized her party’s desire to see accountable governance in Dominica.
