New British High Commissioner to Dominica HE Janet Elizabeth Douglas has presented her credentials to President of Dominica Charles Savarin. H.E was due to present her credentials to President Savarin in mid September 2017, but H. Maria hindered that process. Douglas says she is pleased with the enormous strides that have been taken in recovery and rebuilding Dominica. She says the recovery that the country has made over a 5 month period is in no small part due to the resilience of the people of the island. Douglas says 2017 was very challenging for the UK as that country faced a serious series of terrorist attacks and a major fire which claims several lives including some from Dominican origin. New British High Commissioner to Dominica HE Janet Elizabeth Douglas Meanwhile, President of the Commonwealth of Dominica Charles Savarin has thanked HE Douglas for her expression of enthusiasm to further develop the bond of friendship and cooperation between Dominica and the UK. Mr Savarin is also hoping that the recommendations offered at the CARIFORUM/UK meeting held in March last year for the creation of the CARICOM/CARIFORUM working group on BREXIT will soon be implemented.
