Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit misleadingly claims Dominica is one of the most democratic countries in the world, and that freedom of expression is protected by law, but he failed to acknowledge the victimization that often follows select persons free expressions.
 
He made these claims in response to a question posed to him on Monday about a group of individuals seeking to file an injunction in court to halt the construction of the international airport, due to lack of planning approval of that project. Skerrit claims that these individuals are free to go to the public and courts, and that there are persons who file cases for properties for which they have no idea where they are situated.

He continued by saying that he had heard the same set of people assert that no EIA had been conducted, and he indicated that government had engaged a team to do the Environment and Social Impact Assessment Studies, but did not confirm whether the documents were made public.
