PRO for the United Workers Party Nicholas George has added his voice to alleged ongoing harassment of Opposition Party members, by the DLP government and the Dominica Police Force. Early Monday Morning, the home of Roseau Central MP for Joseph Isaac was searched. He was taken into custody by Dominica Police, who allegedly accused him of being responsible for violent acts which took place on the night of Tuesday 7th February 2017. It has been observed that every 2 to 3 days a leader or official from either the United Workers Party (UWP) or the Dominica Freedom Party (DFP) is being arrested. On 7th February 2017, the DFP and the UWP successfully organised and held a peaceful public political meeting, where thousands of Dominicans gathered on Kennedy Avenue in Roseau, and demanded the resignation of Dominica's Prime Minister Skerrit and his cabinet. They accused Prime Minister Skerrit of having had shady dealings with several wealthy individuals under the CBI program, some of whom were issued with Dominica’s Diplomatic passports, and have been arrested and charged with criminal offences, and are now either facing trial in court in the United States and in Iran among others, or have been incarcerated. UWP PRO Nicholas George has more: Meantime Nicholas George says he remains resolute in the call for Prime Minister Roosevelt to resign.
George is of the view that Skerrit has lost his moral authority to govern Dominica, based on evidence acquired by the UWP and from credible international organizations which have disseminated the information in the public domain.
