Public Works Ministry signs EC$7.45 million contracts for Rehabilitation work with Offshore Civil & Marine Inc

​The Ministry of Public Works and Ports signed two contracts to the tune of EC$7.45 million for the Highway Rehabilitation and River Defense works west of Hillsborough Bridge and Providence Road Rehabilitation Project with local engineering company Offshore Civil and Marine Inc.
 
Speaking at the signing ceremony on Monday, Minister for public works and ports Miriam Blanchard said, the Highway Rehabilitation and River Defense works west of Hillsborough Bridge is expected to be conducted over a period of 189 days, while the Providence Road Rehabilitation Project million is expected to be conducted over a period of 110 days.

​These projects have been of necessity following the passage of tropical storms Ophelia in 2011 and Ericka in 2015 which caused the severe devastation to these road networks.

​Meanwhile, Blanchard says the Government is not daunted by the task of rebuilding Dominica following weather events. . She stated that the Government remains focused on development of the island's infrastructure.
