Sapphire Carrington says a PPOD Government will develop a National Foreign Policy for Dominica12/1/2017 Leader of the People’s Party of Dominica (PPOD) Sapphire Carrington says a PPOD Government would seek to implement a National Foreign Policy, that is beneficial to all Dominicans, no matter which political party assumes office. Carrington emphasized that her party does not believe in upholding any specific foreign policy, and said that a nationalistic approach would be taken to stimulate greater cooperation and partnership. The PPOD Leader says the party hopes to solidify trade throughout the Asian region, and added that Africa is among the countries which will be considered, in its approach toward developing a National Foreign Policy. Meantime, Carrington is ‘giving the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs an F.’ She wants more investments to be made in the professional development of Dominica’s Youth. Carrington made a direct reference to a rich elderly couple who bought Dominican Citizenship a few years ago, and upon request, were given permission by Dominica’s government to compete in the Winter Olympics.
According to www.daily.co.uk, Gary di Silvestri and wife Angelica Morrone were born in Staten Island and Italy, respectively, the couple paid nearly $200,000 to become citizens of Dominica to be eligible to compete in the Olympics. Dominica has never before had a Winter Olympic team, many of the claims di Silvestri makes in his various bios about his previous athletic prowess are not true, and Morrone was involved in a bribery scandal involving the International Olympic Committee and her former employer, Italian car-maker Fiat. Olympians: Morrone didn't show up to her 10k race and di Silvestri didn't make it to the first checkpoint in the men's 15k. The PPOD Leader spoke to Q95 news in a recent interview.
