Sunday August 27, 2017 will mark two years since Tropical Storm Erika ravaged Dominica.
To mark the two year anniversary, the communities of Soufriere and Scotts Head will come together on Sunday to mark the occasion. According to a release, the event left its mark not only on the physical structure if Dominica but also on the psyche of the people. The Day’s event is expected to commence with a Holy Mass at 9:30am at Our Lady of Lourdes, Roman Catholic Church in Soufriere. Following the Sunday celebration, there will be a presentation on the book “A Year to Remember - a Journey with Christ “. (Jan. 31, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2015) by Fr. Clement S. Jolly, C.Ss.R. Among the invitees are the Management and the fifty-two (52) workers of the New Jungle Bay Resort, being constructed in the heights of Soufriere. Organizers say this will be an opportunity for all visitors to savour the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea and the hot and cold Sulphur Springs as is unique only to this part of Dominica.
