We do need a better system for managing approvals of short term medical volunteers. Currently I think they must be processed by the Medical Board which meets infrequently and seems to be made up of practicing doctors who have no time to make it a priority. It is right to check out that things offered for free are bona fide and that it is not about selling equipment or giving Dominican substandard service that is not accountable.
