The Agriculture Ministry Project Implementation Unit in collaboration with the world bank has begun an emergency agricultural livelihoods & climate resilient project, to help farmers affected by Hurricane Maria. The government of Dominica has received funding from the World Bank for the Dominica Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and climate Resilience Project to be implemented over a five-year period. It is designed to help crop farmers affected by hurricane Maria restore their agricultural livelihoods, and adopt climate resilience practices. Ms. Juliana Danielle Foster, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the Project Implementation Unit in the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries says there has already been a three-week sensitization process, which dealt with expression of interest forms. Ms. Foster She also explained some of the requirements necessary to become eligible, as well as the necessary steps required.
