The Leader of the UWP, Lennox Linton, has given his comments on the recent press release sent out by the government to the EU, regarding their displeasure of the recent blacklisting of Dominica, due to its leadership’s failure to meet international requirements on tax compliance, as a result Dominica has been blacklisted as a non-cooperative tax jurisdiction in a new EU Council List issued on Tuesday. The UWP Leader says the regular meetings of parliamentarians need to occur along with proper implementation and passing of legislation, which would safe guard the reputation of the country and establish proper tax compliance practices in the country, approved by the international community. Speaking to Q95 FM on Wednesday, Linton says the nature of the DLP’s response, may be misleading, and exposes the administration’s level of interest to implement good governance practices.
