Trade Director says implementation of the WTO trade facilitation agreement is to improve on border procedures speed & efficiency
Director of Trade Matthan Walter says the idea of the implementation of the trade facilitation agreement of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is to improve on the speed and efficiency of border procedures.
The Ministry of Trade, Energy and Employment has been hosting a weeklong workshop of the United nations conference for trade and development.
Walter says Dominica submitted to the WTO Secretariat on February 25th 2019 its Category B & C commitments and its Technical and Financial assistance needs.
He says the assistance will speed the implementation process forward.

Meantime, Alexander LaRoch-Maltese of the UN Conference for Trade & Development says the main objective is to help people implement in a coordinated manner trade facilitation reforms.
