SOME 1,500 pounds of goods in several “Barrels of Love” was sent to the Convent High School in Roseau, Dominica, earlier this week, thanks to the Power Generation Company of Trinidad & Tobago Ltd (PowerGen).
Following the September 8th 2017 devastation wrought by Hurricane Maria, a drive to collect goods for Dominica was organized by well-wishers from Port of Spain and environs. The cargo provides much-needed personal supplies for staff and teachers of the school, as well as food items to replace recently stolen stock from the school’. PowerGen spokesman François Ottley said, “PowerGen remains deeply committed to the development of youth through sports and education. This initiative has given us the opportunity to help beyond our shores and help a Caribbean neighbour. Showing that we not only care for our country but care for the wider Caribbean Community, and assist when the need arises.”
