Unconfirmed reports indicate Public Works Corporation (PWC) General Manager McDowell Paul has resigned from the post, effective April 5, 2017. The reasons for his resignation are not known at this time. Paul is a former employee of the National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU). He took over the management of the PWC on 1st December 2015.
The PWC has been experiencing financial difficulties for quite some time, but is currently engaged in repairing the road to Stockfarm. However, it is said to be continuing to face challenges in receiving funds for that $3.17Million project, which was announced in February 2017. The DLP government had said at the time, that the funds would come from the Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program. Meanwhile, PWC employees have allegedly still not been paid for the past three fortnights, and payment of their Dominica Social Security (DSS) deductions appear to continue to remain in doubt.
