UWI to host Dr Emily Dick-Forde at the 10th Annual NBD National Distinguished lecture Thursday5/22/2017 Dr Emily Dick-Forde, Head of the Programme Planning Department at UWI Open Campus, will deliver the 10th Annual National Bank of Dominica Ltd., & UWI Open Campus Dominica National Distinguished Lecture, on Thursday 25th May 2017, commencing at 7:00 pm at the Fort Young Hotel Conference Room.
Dr Dick-Forde, who holds a PhD in Accounting, will speak on the topic: "A Solutions-oriented Perspective, on the Persistence of (Financial) Crises in the Caribbean.” According to a release, she will address the issues of governance, leadership, and Caribbean intellectual traditions, on political economy and corporate failures, and will offer solutions for sustainable growth going forward. The lecture is expected to integrate regional examples as specific case studies, and will offer insight into how corporate entities in the Caribbean, both large and small, can learn from these examples and set solid plans for growth, even in these challenging economic times. Dr. Dick-Forde is from Trinidad & Tobago. Her areas of research include corporate social responsibility, ethical leadership and strategic management.
