No amount of lies or ridiculing of the parliamentary opposition will change the fact the needs of the people are clear, and that the Government needs to provide the people with their finances. These statements came from United Workers Party Leader Lennox Linton. Linton was speaking via telephone interview with Q95fm, where he addressed the growing concern of the people, as it relates to a financial stimulus at a time when they need it most. The Government of Dominica and the Dominica Social Security (DSS) say they have collaborated to provide financial assistance to persons who may have lost their jobs or have had their work hours reduced, by providing an amount of 8 million dollars from the DSS Redundancy fund, with an additional 9 million from other government sources. However, many Dominican Social Security contributors are expressing concerns about that approach, and are questioning why is it so difficult to produce funds to assist persons, when just in December 2019 millions of dollars were spent during elections with no obstruction. He then commented on housing development firm Montreal Management, and their collaboration with the government which has resulted in millions of dollars absent the consolidated funds.
