Woodbridge Bay Port now operating from 8am to 7pm on weekdays & from 9am to 3pm on weekends11/10/2017 Port Officials have advised that Woodbridge Bay Port is now operating from 8am to 7pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 3pm on weekends, in an effort to facilitate the clearing of barrels and to ease up storage issues, due to large quantities of cargo entering the country in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.
CEO of the Dominica Air and Seaports Authority, Benoit Bardouille, made that disclosure at a press briefing on Wednesday, and indicated that the intent is to ensure that all persons can receive their packages within two to three days after the goods have landed on the port Badouille advised that the port is remaining open until 7:00 pm, to facilitate the business community clearing and moving their containers. He said the truckers especially can move containers to the merchant’s location from about 2 pm, and they will be given priority at that time, once there is no vessel in port, so that they can move as many containers as possible to the premises of the mercantile community. He explained that those who want to clear barrels and boxes will be dealt with in the morning, and the truckers will be dealt with in the afternoon. He said this is all in an effort to ease up the storage issues at the port.
