Persons with disabilities in Dominica say despite advocacy, the issue of access is still a major headache for people living with disabilities here.
World International Day for persons living with disabilities was recognized globally Thursday.
Executive Director of the Dominica Association of People living with disabilities Nathalie Murphy, says employment is also another issue affecting people with disabilities here.
She says however; some progress has been made.

Meantime, President of Dominica His Excellency Charles Savarin says persons living with disabilities worldwide still face too many challenges.
He says people living with disabilities around the world face many barriers in key aspects of society.
International Day of persons living with Disabilities was held under the theme “Inclusion Matters, access and empowerment for people with all abilities.” An estimated 1billion people are living with disabilities.
