Education Minister Petter St Jean has confirmed that 6 students who left Dominica in 2015 to pursue studies in Venezuela, have since moved to Cuba to continue their studies. St Jean however is denying claims, that their decision is due to the current deteriorating social and economic situation in Venezuela.
Reports are that at present, oil rich Venezuela has been experiencing a deep social, economic and political crisis, with unrelenting internal and external forces challenging the political system.
St Jean insists that the Dominican students who remain in Venezuela are safe.
