Sources have revealed that 86-year-old Veronica Daniel residing in Tarreau is reported missing from Tuesday 1st November 2016, and has not since been seen.
The source indicated that she was living with a daughter, who went to bed about midnight on Tuesday, and woke up at approximately 5:00 am and realize her mother was not in her bed. She is said to have conducted a search throughout the house, but found no sign of the elderly woman.
An alarm was said to have been raised, and relatives immediately began searching for Daniel. They were reportedly told that a person fitting Daniel’s description was seen in Copthall and a search was launched in the area, but produced no results.
Daniel was said to be wearing a black and white dress, at the time of her disappearance. A report has reportedly been made to the police and relatives are desperately trying to locate her. Several elderly persons have been reported missing in Dominica in recent times.
On October 4, 81-year old Ettienne Charles, also known as “Charlo,” from the Kalinago Territory, left his home for the Kalinago Council Office and has not been seen since.
On Saturday, October 23, 79-year-old Lawrence Joseph, from Vieille Case, disappeared from Bath Estate without a trace.
