A Caller to Q95’s Hot Seat today commented on a statement by Mr Kenny Green that gave the appearance of being concerned about the lack of dialogue between the government and the Opposition

Speaking on the Hot Seat Program hosted on Q95 this Morning, one caller responded to a statement made by Marketing and Project Management Expert Kenneth Green, on the program titled ‘the other side’ on Tuesday night, where he said, ‘the Opposition is supposed to be able to strengthen the Government’. The caller said using the word “Ought” instead of ‘Supposed to’, would highlight the importance of the opposition and the need for a greater understanding of the role of the opposition, which is enshrined in the constitution. He called on Mr Kenneth Green and any other persons who subscribed to that statement to be honest as to “Why Dominica has come to that Point” where there is no dialogue between the opposition and the Government.

The Caller added that he believed the statement may have been made in reference to the unity panel discussion which was held at the Dominica Public Service Union building (DPSU) on Tuesday evening. He said the statement was mature in that Green gave the appearance of taking a balanced approach, but it is very sad in reality that Dominica has reached this stage where there seems to be very little dialogue between the opposition and the government. He contends that the political climate is very animus, and persons with different political standpoints seem to be constantly at war with each other.
