A geothermal administration team are said to have begun some further testing at the geothermal project site in Laudat, Dominica
A geothermal administration/team is said to have begun some further testing at the geothermal project site at Laudat in Dominica. Present at the site was Roseau Valley Candidate for the UWP team Dominica Ronald Charles, who gave some information that was presented to him.
Speaking via a telephone interview at the time, Mr. Charles said the Geothermal officials claim that they are taking all necessary precautions during these testing’s, because there is a lot of risk involved. Senator Charles said what is concerning to him is that, in a situation like this, there should have been island-wide notification.
Taking into consideration the hazards that are at stake, elderly persons especially, within these areas should be well prepared for any gas leaks or such incidents.
He says in a situation like geothermal testing, there should be priority placed on health and security for not only the immediate surroundings, but also for the neighboring communities.
