Efforts are being made to improve on access to Dominica says Tourism Minister Robert Tonge. According to Senator Tonge, prior to TS Erika, there were 76 flights and 6,031 seats coming into Dominica. However, he says these numbers reduced significantly post Erika to 46 flights and 4,654 seats. As of June 2016, Tonge says these figures have increased to 89 flights and 7,275 seats. Meanwhile, he says the Air Access committee are continuing to make efforts to increase access to Dominica through AIR BVI and a number of other airlines.
