Agro-ecologist Dr Davidson Lloyd recommends less reliance on donors and move to properly use, produce and explore all Agro processing opportunities, which can be derived from indigenous crops and herbs
Dominica’s production levels are said t have decreased significantly, due to the policy changes away from industries which focus on economic sustainability, to dependency on initiatives such as the Citizenship by Investment Program, Tourism, and Donations from Diplomatic Allies.
Consultant Agro-Ecologist Dr Davidson Lloyd would like to see Dominica become less dependent on foreign donations for revenue, and rely more on creating initiatives to obtain sustainable revenue, increase national productivity levels, increase Agro-processing and exports and increase the employment rate, thereby reducing poverty.
Meantime, Dr Lloyd used Dominica’s Bay oil production as an example, adding that the time has come to properly use, produce and explore all the Agro processing opportunities, which can be derived from various crops and herbs in Dominica.
