Amendments to the country’s sexual offences act are expected to make provisions for obstruction of prosecution.
And the man appointed to head the committee to fix up the act says many times, the cases are blocked by the perpetrators and even patents.
Last year, government appointed Legal Consultant Ray Harris to look at the provisions of the island’s Sexual Offences Act and make recommendations.
Here’s how Harris says the new act makes it an offence, to meddle with the prosecution’s case.
Meantime, Harris says the admissibility of minor’s statement is also part of the new provisions.
