An appeal has been made for more Dominicans to volunteer for training to provide support to victims of abuse. In 2013, Lifeline Ministries initiated a victim support scheme in Dominica with funding from the British High Commissioner. The victim support scheme seeks to provide support to victims of rape, abuse and sexual assault among other types of physical abuse. Executive Director of Lifeline Ministries, Tina Alexander, is calling on Dominicans to step forward to receive training which will allow them to provide support for victims. Alexander says the next victims’ supporters’ course is carded for May 12 2016. Alexander says the courses that have been done to date have been impressive.
