A marine research team which docked in Dominica on February 24 2016, has ended its 42 day expedition of the island’s shores.
The team of marine archaeologists and researchers spent their days exploring Dominica’s waters in search of new and unusual marine life and biological information.
The team covered 24sq miles off the western coast in 31 dives, going as far as 2miles offshore.
At least 9 potentially new species of fishes and crustaceans were discovered.
That included a new species of hog fish, deep water toad fish, an anemone and an unidentified species of cat shark.
