App Developer Kirk Parillon will be launching his first ever app titled ‘Caribbean Duty Calculator’ on the Google Play Store, under the developer name ‘F50 Studios’. The app will be available for free downloaded on Monday 21st November 2016.
Parillon told media that he created the App to calculate duty estimations on various goods imported into Caribbean countries. He said that the duty estimates are based on the Cost Insurance & Freight (CIF) of the imported items, such as vehicles, appliances, beverages and electronics.
Parillon explained that the core service the app offers, is that it gives a quick estimate of the duty payable on goods that are frequent imported into the country, so importers are able to identify a ballpark amount of duty that will be payable on these items.
The app is said to be a product of collaboration with individuals and entities engaging in e-commerce business, and is also geared for use by internet shoppers, brokers and importers.
