Dr Fontaine reveals that based on the statistics of the National Hurricane Center, and other Official weather Centers in the Caribbean, the majority of the conditions claimed by the Antiguan Forecaster are irrelevant, as the majority of the intensity of the weather system will be traveling up north away from the Caribbean.

Former Dominica Ambassador to the UN, Crispin Gregoire, says he will be pushing for an amendment to the laws, which allows CBI citizens to vote and participate in the country’s Elections.
Gregoire says for obvious reasons of ensuring that Dominicans are not overrun and oppressed by wealthy foreign nationals – who have bought Dominican citizenship, this needs to occur within the first 100 days of new elected government.

DPSU President Steve Joseph expresses sympathy towards the families who lost loved ones to vehicular accidents in 2020. He continues to advocate for the authorities to enforce more stringent measures regarding safe driving and traffic.He contends that too many young lives have been lost due to vehicular accidents specifically motorcycle accidents.
Joseph also highlighted some of the challenges and accomplishments the union faced through 2020. He says “the union did not sleep” in 2020.
The DPSU President is hopeful that a greater effort will be made to involve youth in the union. He added that the DPSU is ready to join hands with other public and private sector unions to have a stronger voice in the decision making & development process of the Dominica and the Caribbean.

ICU patient Tyrone Theophille who suffered a fractured skull, due to a Motorcycle Accident, has been successfully airlifted to Martinique for advanced medical treatment
Meantime Q95 news has confirmed that Captain of the Dominica cricket team & former Windward Islands Volcanoes Captain, Tyrone Theophile, who was an ICU patient at the Princess Margaret Hospital, as a result of a terrible motorcycle accident on Christmas Day, was airlifted successfully on December 28, 2020, by a Martinique air ambulance to receive urgent medical attention in Martinique.
Health Minister Dr Irvin McIntyre was present at the Canefield airport along with family members and friends of Theophile. Parliamentary representative for the area Denise Charles who is also a family member of Theophile was also present “He is a focused young man, he is my cousin, and this is personal to me. I am praying hard and it is my hope and prayer that he returns to us,” Charles said.
Dr. McIntyre described his conditions as “critical “and is hoping for the best. Meantime, West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) President and CEO Wavell Hinds has sent best wishes to Theophile. “Our prayers are with you and your family at this time. Police report that one young man identified as Donaldson Alcendor has lost his life from a shooting incident which took place in the Southern Community of Grand-Bay on December 26, 2020
Q95 news can confirm that a shooting incident took place in the Southern community of Grand-Bay on December 26, 2020, leaving one young man dead.
According to reports from the police, two young men were involved in an altercation resulting in the death of now identified Donaldson Alcendor.
“Alcendor was shot in the abdomen and succumbed to his injuries later that day,” the police Officer said. One man is presently on the run and is being pursued by the police Force, as investigations are ongoing

King says at present, the unfettered power given to the person who fills the office of Prime Minister, to announce a date for the Election polls, ‘leave too much room for wastage of state resources, and child’s play as seen in the last three Election cycles.’
Additionally, Ms Cecilia King says people are interested in seeing the establishment of two term limits enforced for whoever fills the office of the Prime Minister.

National Development Foundation of Dominica Executive Director Cletus Joseph says 2020 was challenging for the company as it had not anticipated COVID-19
Executive Director of the National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD) Ltd Cletus Joseph says this year has been a challenging one for the company.
He says though the company has had its fair share of challenges, this year was somewhat different.
Joseph stated that the organization expected there may have been another storm, or hurricane, but never did it imagine COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Joseph says the company has been launching some green products based on adaptation and mitigation technologies to stimulate economic activities.
