As the climate change continues to affect the Caribbean, new rotating Chairman, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says, steps need to be taken to reduce the Caribbean’s Carbon Footprint, such as exploring the option of renewable sources of energy.
He called for CARICOM leaders to strengthen efficiency and implementation of decisions that are made. He noted that the recent establishment of the Caribbean Centre for renewable energy and energy efficiency in Barbados, is one of the first steps towards driving this process in the region.
