Caricom Secretary General, Dominican Ambassador Irwin Larocque says a collaborative approach is needed to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing the region. Larocque made these remarks at the opening ceremony of the 27th Intersessional meeting of the conference of heads of government of the Caribbean Community Caricom in Belize. A banking crisis, a health concern with the Zika virus and a commitment to obtain promised climate change funding are just some of the issues affecting the region. And Larocque says only a united front will bring about successful results. Meantime Larocque says that Caricom was a united force at last year’s Paris Climate Talks and that should act as a guide moving forward. Caricom Secretary General, Dominican Ambassador Irwin Larocque
