CARICOM Secretary-General, Irwin Larocque, says it is important that public servants adopt a more people centred approach to service, in a bid to ensure the successful implementation of public sector reform.
Public sector reform involves the deliberate action to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, professionalism and democratic character of the civil service with a view to promoting better delivery of public goods and services with increased accountability.
He says public servants must understand that today's complex and interconnected world requires flexibility and resilience in thinking and action. He says all CARICOM member states have been focused on public sector reform over the years. A move he says will make a massive difference in the advancement of the CSME.
