Chief Medical Officer, Dr. David Johnson, is urging women here to get pap smears and mammograms done regularly in a bid to detect Cervical and Breast cancer in the early stages.
Statistics reveal that between 2004 and 2013, the main cause of cancer related deaths among men were prostate, digestive organs (colorectal) and lung cancer while for women during that same period was breast, colorectal, stomach and cervical cancer.
"No woman in Dominica should be dying from cervical cancer" says Dr. Johnson.
Dr. Johnson was speaking at the launch of Caribbean Wellness Day activities Saturday.
