Commonwealth Secretary General wants to eradicate extreme view that differences equal ‘rights to disrespect’
Meanwhile, describing them as the Commonwealth’s “best asset” Commonwealth Secretary General, Patricia Scotland, says her confidence lies with young people. She noted that by 2030 people under the age of 30 will make up 60 per cent of the Commonwealth population and by helping them achieve their aspirations the commonwealth will have a powerhouse of the economy in the future.
Meanwhile, Scotland says the extreme view, that "differences", equal the right to treat each other with disrespect, must be eradicated from the world’s children. She says children must be taught from birth that difference does not equal division.
