In the fight against corruption in all its forms, Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland today rallied global support at a high-level conference bringing together government, civil society and business leaders from around the world. In her opening address the Secretary-General stated that the fight against corruption requires the efforts of all present at the conference. She says that corruption is far more than money and seen for too long as a victimless white collar crime, with no discussion as to the real world impact. The Tackling Corruption Together conference precedes the Anti-Corruption Summit: London 2016 on Thursday 12 May, hosted by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, which aims to agree a package of practical steps to expose and drive out corrupt practices.
