Cottage MP, Reginald Austrie, has sent a stern warning to members of the Opposition United Workers Party to lay off former Soufriere MP Ian Pinard.
A by-election is slated for June 7 2016 in the Soufriere Constituency following the resignation of Ian Pinard as Parliamentary representative. Pinard also resigned as Public works Minister earlier due to allegations of serious inappropriate behaviour which has been gripping the nation. The new Dominica Labour Party Candidate, Denise Charles, was launched in Pointe Michel but Austrie says the UWP remains focused on Pinard. He says the Opposition needs to refocus their attention on the by-election instead of lambasting Pinard for his inappropriate conduct.
