Culture Minister says the recent subvention to the House of Nyabinghi shows respect for Rastafarians5/27/2016 Minister of Culture, Justina Charles, says the recent subvention from the governing DLP to the House of Nyabinghi, signifies respect to Rastafarians and commitment to the African Day celebrations.
On May 23rd 2016, Dominica observed Africa Day, and members of the House of Nyahbinghi & Rastafarians marched from Portersville Savannah to Harlem Plaza. “In recent years, government provided a subvention to the House of Nyahbinghi for staging their celebration,” Charles said at a ceremony held at Harlem Plaza. “This signifies respect to all Rastafarians, and the support that government gives to all people of this nation. The involvement and collaboration of various stakeholders are thus vital to realizing the broadest participation of the population in the celebrations” she said.
