Defence lawyer for murder-accused McKinley Williams, Darius Jones, says he was not surprised that the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict of murder.
Jones made this statement in an interview with Court Reporter Carlisle Jno Baptiste on Thursday. The 9-member jury was unable to arrive at a verdict of either murder or manslaughter after deliberating for 4 hours.
Williams was tried for the alleged murder of his cousin Dwight Auguiste, between 3rd & 24th December, 2013 at Kingshill. Jones says given the issues the jury had to deal with, it would not be easy to reach a verdict.
