DFP Leader Kent Vital says Dominica’s performance in Projects from Fiscal Year 2018/2019 to this current Fiscal Year 2020/2021 is a classic example of a government ‘swimming in debt’
Economist and DFP Leader Kent Vital says his analysis indicates that last year 2019, the Roosevelt Skerrit Administration ran a huge Fiscal Deficit and for the 2020 Fiscal Projections, another Fiscal Deficit was recorded for Dominica due to the Financial mismanagement of the Skerrit Administration, ‘A whopping negative 4.7% is the expected projected negative growth for Dominica.”
Kent Vital went on to reference the actions taken by Officials of the Ministry of Finance, in allowing Finance Minister and Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, to exceed the limit of the Government’s overdraft facility, and then seek Parliament’s approval, earlier in 2020, to convert the overdraft facility into a loan. The economist calls this a classic example of a government ‘swimming in debt.’
