Disaster Management Consultant, Cecil Shillingford, says a number of lessons were learnt following Tropical Storm Erika.
The storm, which ravaged Dominica in August 2015, left the island facing a $1.2 billion reconstruction bill.
Shillingford says Government is looking at implementing some of the recommendations following TS Erika as soon as possible.
Proper management of the emergency operations centre and the establishment of a first response search and rescue team is among those recommendations.
