Dominica Electoral Commission member, Hillary Shillingford reveals political tactics he alleges are implemented by the DLP administration to steal elections in Dominica, and says it is time to stand up
Executive member of the Dominica Electoral Commission, Hillary Shillingford revealed some of the political tactics he alleged are being implement by the DLP administration to steal elections in Dominica. Some argued that it is not a secrete anymore, that persons are being implanted into constituencies to vote for the DLP.
One of the champion voices speaking out and protesting against this method of winning elections is UWP Senator Monelle Williams-Jno Baptiste, candidate for the St. Joseph constituency. She says with current shift taking place in the country, she is confident that the UWP will win the elections but the DLP will do everything in their power to cheat
In response to these statements’ member of the Dominica Electoral Commission, Hillary Shillingford, says Mrs. Jno Baptiste is correct, and that she is one of the persons with the most concern, because in her constituency the tactic of voter implanting is most prevalent. Shillingford says it takes a collective effort to end this trend and not just that of one person or one set of persons, but rather everyone needs to get up and get into action.
Mr. Shillingford says Roosevelt Skerrit is using tax payers money to bail out companies, and well-off supermarkets, but will not advise them to support local produce and stop importing what is already available in the local market.
He says the Prime Minister does not care for the average farmer or poor person; if he did, we would not see so much imported produce, but rather it is a tactic to keep the average farmer poor, and give handouts to them come election time.
