Chairman of the Dominica Manufacturing Association (DMA) and President of the (DBF) Severin McKenzie speaks to one of the biggest weaknesses in Dominica’s Manufacturing Sector at this time, and that is the issue of supply.
Speaking to Q95FM recently, McKenzie revealed the stark reality of difference in incentive re manufacturers and their products made in Dominica, as opposed to the addiction of importation of produce by Dominican retailers.
He acknowledges that although Dominica has a lot of cottages, he says a cottage industry alone will solve the economic issues present in Dominica.
McKenzie referenced the need for a coconut rehabilitation program to ensure the availability of the raw produce for Agro- processing purposes.
