On the heels of a severe weather alert issued by the Dominica Met Office, the Office of Disaster Management reminds Dominicans to monitor the system closely and listen to official weather advisories coming from the media.
Yesterday, the met office advised of a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms, located a few hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands, that are associated with a Tropical Wave.
The DMA advises persons close to rivers, ravines or other waterways to be prepared to take necessary action, should there be consistent rain.
Although Information from the National Hurricane Center in Miami has indicated that Dominica is outside of the impact area, residents should not drop their guard.
